This is a fantastic opportunity for a diligent and motivated individual with proven HR and People Management experience to deliver high-level HR management to a people-focused organisation in beautiful South Devon. 
 
We are a national web design franchise company based in Torquay. We are looking for a driven people manager to provide excellent people management and employee relations support to our managers and directors.

About the role  This is a varied role, and the successful candidate will undertake an assortment of tasks to maintain the People function within the business. 

You will be reporting directly to the directors to manage the day-to-day HR. 

Main responsibilities 

Maintain and update legal documents and policies in line with employment law and organisational needs 
Supporting, guiding and coaching managers on all areas of the employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit processes 
Advise management team on employee relations matters and employment law, seeking approval from our employment law partners where necessary 
Oversee the management of absence and annual leave ensuring it is on all communication platforms 
Lead the focus on wellbeing as a MHFA, organising regular initiatives and helping to develop other MHFAs and MH champions 
Continue to champion and raise awareness of ED&I 
Organise annual mandatory training for the wider team, ongoing development for the managers and developing seniors as our future managers 
Arrange employee engagement initiatives- quarterly social events, recognition of birthdays and employee celebrations 
Maintain employee records both physically and electronically in our HRiS in compliance with current data protection legislation

We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, and professional individual with a positive, can-do approach and the ability to manage a varied workload. 
 
You should be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, supporting staff with empathy and also leads and influences when needed. 

Skills and experience

Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) 
Great verbal and written communication skills 
Confidence to work independently and to manage stakeholder expectations 
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times 
Experience in managing others and change 
CIPD qualified to level 5 or equivalent experience 
Qualified MHFA or willing to undertake a two-day course 
Passionate about Wellbeing and ED & I 
Prioritises relationship building 
Approachable and collaborative team player 
Keeps up-to-date with employment law 
Attention to detail 
Confidential, sensitive issues etc

Full time | hybrid working About this vacancy 

This is a part-time role with a hybrid working schedule, with the working week currently split into 3 days based at our national Head Office in Torquay and 2 days of remote work. Salary from £18,667 p.a. depending on hours. 
 
You’ll be joining our experienced team in a contemporary working environment, with an open plan office and convenient location.
