Since its launch in October 2018, the Livermead Cliff Hotel has been on an it’seeze Max package. Over the following four years, the hotel staff made occasional edits to the website to promote local or seasonal events, or to reflect menu changes. However, in July 2022, we began optimising the website and developed a strategic plan for ongoing monthly optimisation processes.

Our challenge
In July ’22, The Livermead Cliff Hotel website performed well, with website audits recording high scores across all technical categories and achieving a good web audit score.
Seasonal website traffic was averaging at approx—2k visitors per month. The ad hoc nature of site updates had left the website with a busy and confusing navigation structure, which could put off potential visitors. The site was functioning as expected but hadn’t been optimised professionally for
organic traffic or bookings.
The outcome
As of July 2023, the website has seen an increase in traffic, with an average of 3K monthly visitors, thanks to improved keyword performance.
The Livermead Cliff Hotel has seen increased visibility within search engine results pages for keywords and phrases which it hadn’t ranked for previously, such as ‘wedding hotels in Torquay’.
By March ‘25, the website has 14 keywords on Google’s first page and an average rank increase of 50 places, with continued growth.
Although we have achieved success, SEO requires ongoing monthly analysis and patience.
