Every month, our teams at it'seeze work across website design, development and SEO to deliver digital solutions that help businesses grow online.
From newly launched websites to performance improvements behind the scenes, each project combines thoughtful design, reliable technical development and search-led strategy. While visitors often see the finished result, there's a lot of expertise and collaboration involved in getting there.
In this January round-up, we're sharing a selection of recent website and digital marketing highlights, alongside insight into the thinking behind the work and the impact it's had on our clients.
January Website Design Highlights
This month, our designers worked on a range of website projects, each tailored to reflect the client's brand, audience, and goals.
From layout and visiual direction to usability and accessibility, every design decision was made with the end user in mind. Below, we've highlighted a selection of January's website design work, alongside insight from the designers themselves on the thinking behind each project.
Tailored Journeys South AfricaDesigned by Becca JonesBuilt by Jon Matheson
The website design for Tailored Journeys South Africa was focused on creating a strong visual prescence that reflects the richness of the destination while reminaing clear, refined and easy to engage with.
Earthy, natural colour palettes were paired with striking photography to bring the experience of African safaris to life and immerse users in the brand from the moment they land on the site. This combination helps communicate the sense of adventure and authenticity behind Tailored Journey's South Africa's bespoke offerings, while maintaining a polished, professional feel.
Subtle design accents were also incorporated throughout the site, drawing inspiration from traditional South African patterns commonly found in clothing and decoration. These details add depth and cultural reference without overwhelming the content, allowing the imagery and messaging to remain the main focus. The final result is a visually engaging website that feels considered, balanced, and aligned with the client's brand; something that was reflected in the positive feedback receieved from the client.
Becca says:
"I’m really pleased with how this project came together and the feedback from the client has been very positive. Using earthy, natural colours alongside bold photography helped create a strong visual presence, while the subtle accents were inspired by South African patterns and added character without overwhelming the content."
Dashin' HoundsDesigned & Built by Jodie Cook
The website design for Dashin' Hounds was centred around creating a high-end, professional online presence that reflects the premium nature of the brand, while still feeling warm and welcoming to potential clients.
The overall aesthetic was designed to feel elegant and polished, aligning with the client’s desire for a more refined look within the dog grooming sector. Clean layouts, considered typography and carefully selected imagery work together to give the site a sense of quality and credibility, helping to build trust with visitors from the first impression.
Alongside this more luxurious feel, playful imagery was incorporated to add personality and approachability. This balance ensures the site feels friendly and accessible, without losing its professional edge; creating an experience that appeals to pet owners looking for both expertise and care.
Jodie says:
"The client wanted the site to feel high-end and professional, so I really enjoyed designing something that felt elegant and polished. I also added a sense of fun through the imagery to make the site feel welcoming and approachable."
HN CareersDesigned by Barry Muir Built by Lee Wilson
For the HN Careers website, the design focus was on creating a professional, approachable and trustworthy online presence that reflects the company’s mission.
A key visual element from the client’s brand (the leaf in the logo) was woven into the design to help create a cohesive and recognisable aesthetic. This motif works harmoniously with the imagery used throughout the site, reinforcing brand identity while adding subtle visual interest without overwhelming the content.
The overall layout and colour choices were chosen to prioritise clarity and ease of use, allowing visitors to quickly understand the services offered and navigate between sections. This clean, structured approach helps visitors feel confident and informed; an important factor for a recruitment website where users may be looking for guidance or support in career decisions.
Barry says:
"I enjoyed working with the leaf element from the logo and tying it into the site’s visual theme; it helps connect the brand imagery with the layout in a subtle, effective way."
Jane Hickey NutritionDesigned by Tom RoddaBuilt by Jon Matheson
The website design for Jane Hickey Nutrition was centred around creating a calm, welcoming online space that reflects the supportive and considered nature of the brand.
A soft, desaturated colour palette was used throughout the site to create a soothing visual experience, helping users feel at ease as they explore the content. This subtle use of colour supports the brand’s focus on wellbeing, without distracting from the information or overwhelming the page.
Gentle rollover animations add an extra layer of interaction while maintaining the site’s calm tone. These details introduce movement and interest in a way that feels soft and intentional, enhancing the user experience rather than competing with it. Typography also plays a key role in the overall design, with heading fonts combining a traditional serif style with a modern twist; adding personality and character while remaining understated and easy to read.
Together, these elements create a website that feels professional, approachable and aligned with the values of Jane Hickey Nutrition, supporting both trust and clarity for users.
Tom says:
"I really love the colour palette for this site; using subtle, desaturated tones helped create a calming feel throughout. The rollover animations add interest while staying soft and unobtrusive, and the heading font blends a traditional serif style with a slight twist to keep it engaging without drawing too much attention."
Apex Comms & Energy LtdDesigned by Samantha ScottBuilt by Vincent Zhang
The website design for Apex Comms & Energy Ltd was focused on creating a corporate yet approachable online presence that clearly communicates the company’s services while remaining easy and intuitive to navigate.
Strong imagery was used throughout the site to give it a professional feel and help establish trust from the outset. The logo colourways were carried through the wider design, creating a cohesive visual identity that feels consistent across all pages and reinforces brand recognition.
Navigation was a key consideration, particularly for users who want to quickly understand what Apex Communications offers. Clear links positioned under the main banner allow visitors to move easily between sections, making it simple to find relevant information without unnecessary clicks. The overall result is a website that balances a polished, corporate aesthetic with accessibility and ease of use; ensuring it feels welcoming rather than overly formal.
Sam says:
"The imagery worked really well for this project and it was nice to carry the logo colourways through the rest of the site. The links under the banner make it very easy to navigate, and overall it has a corporate look that still feels approachable."
Delta Drain ServicesDesigned & Built by Naïs Álvarez Cardoso
The website design for Delta Drain Services was focused on creating a clean, modern and easy-to-use experience that allows visitors to quickly find the services they need.
The design makes strong use of colour, incorporating a gradient inspired by the client’s logo to create a cohesive and professional look across the site. This approach helps reinforce brand identity while keeping the layout clear and uncluttered.
Usability was a key priority, particularly for users who may be visiting the site with an urgent need. Homepage rollovers were introduced to guide visitors smoothly through the available services, making navigation feel intuitive and straightforward. The result is a website that balances visual clarity with practical functionality, supporting a positive user experience from the first interaction.
Naïs says:
"This was a really clean and modern site to work on. Using a gradient taken from the client’s logo helped keep the design cohesive, and the homepage rollovers make navigating through the services feel intuitive and smooth for users."
Lightning Platform Highlight
Development plays a key role in ensuring websites are not only visually strong, but also faster, safer and easier to use.
This month, a key focus for the development team has been supporting sites built on the it’seeze Lightning platform; a performance-led solution designed to deliver the fastest websites in the world, while also providing a secure and user-friendly foundation for long-term growth. By prioritising speed, security and simplicity, Lightning helps clients offer a better experience for visitors and a more powerful platform for managing their digital presence.
MJ4 Building and MaintenanceLightning Platform Results
The MJ4 Building website is a strong example of how the Lightning platform supports both performance and usability. Built with speed and efficiency at its core, the site achieves a Google PageSpeed Insights score of 100 on desktop and on mobile, placing it well above industry averages.
Website speed plays a crucial role in user experience and business success. Faster sites help keep visitors engaged, reduce bounce rates and make it easier for potential customers to find information quickly. From an SEO perspective, site performance is also a ranking factor, meaning better speed can contribute directly to improved visibility in search results.
For clients, this means:
Visitors are more likely to stay on the site
Pages load quickly across devices
Enquiries and conversions are less likely to be lost due to delays
The website is technically prepared for future growth
The Lightning platform is designed to remove many of the technical barriers that can slow sites down, giving clients a high-performance foundation without compromising on design or flexibility. In the case of MJ4 Building and Maintenance, this results in a site that feels instant, professional and easy to use; helping the business present itself confidently online.
SEO Performance Highlights
Alongside strong design and development, SEO plays a crucial role in helping websites get found by the right audiences and support real business goals.
From improving site structure and content clarity to strengthening visibility in search results, our SEO team focuses on practical, performance-led strategies that make a measurable difference. Below, we’ve highlighted a recent SEO and website performance win, along with insight from one of our SEO Executives into the thinking behind the strategy.
P.J. Staffing SEO Strategy by Sophie Fisher
SEO work for P.J. Staffing over the past six months has focused on building sustainable, long-term growth by improving both the depth and accessibility of the website’s content.
Rather than relying on short-term tactics, the strategy centred around expanding and strengthening key areas of the site. This included developing new blog content, enhancing individual industry pages, and targeting more specific, long-tail keywords aligned with how users actually search. By broadening topical coverage in this way, the site was able to capture a wider range of relevant search queries while still maintaining clear structure and intent.
Alongside content development, accessibility and user experience were also key priorities. Improvements such as adding alt text, strengthening internal linking, and securing high-quality backlinks helped ensure the site was easier for both users and search engines to navigate and understand.
The results of this approach have been significant. Over the last six months compared to the previous period:
Clicks increased by 60%
Impressions grew by 170%
Keyword visibility also improved dramatically:
Position #1 keywords: 3 → 42
Top 1–3 keywords: 5 → 103
Page 1 keywords: 14 → 168
Page 2 keywords: 3 → 42
These figures reflect exceptional progress across rankings and visibility, and demonstrate how consistent SEO activity compounds over time to deliver meaningful business impact.
Sophie says:
"This has been a really rewarding strategy to work on, as it shows how expanding content in the right areas can drive sustainable growth. By developing industry-specific pages and supporting them with blogs, internal linking and accessibility improvements, we’ve been able to target a much wider range of relevant searches and build strong long-term visibility for the client."
Bespoke Functionality Spotlight
The it’seeze platform also supports a range of bespoke features that allow clients to integrate powerful tools directly into their websites.
These custom functionalities are designed to solve real business needs, while still benefiting from a shared technical foundation that keeps development efficient, scalable and reliable.
Property SearchBespoke Development Feature
This month’s bespoke development highlight is the Property Search functionality, designed for estate agents who want to display live property listings directly on their website.
This feature automatically pulls property data from the client’s third-party property management system and displays it on their site, updating regularly throughout the day to reflect any changes made within their CRM.
This means property details such as availability, pricing and descriptions are kept up to date through regular automated updates, without the client needing to manually update their website.
Behind the scenes, most property data providers supply very similar information, including:
Property name
Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
Price and status
Location and descriptions
To support this, it’seeze has developed a standardised front-end and database structure, which can be populated by data from a wide range of third-party systems. This allows the same core functionality to be reused across multiple clients, while still presenting a fully bespoke interface that matches each brand’s design.
When a new client uses a provider already supported by the platform, the system can simply be connected with no additional development work required. If a client uses a new provider, only a single data import process needs to be built; saving significant development time and ensuring future clients benefit from the same integration.
For clients, this means:
Live, automated property listings
Reduced manual admin
A fully bespoke front-end experience
A scalable solution that grows with their business
This approach reflects how it’seeze balances bespoke functionality with smart, reusable engineering, allowing clients to access powerful features without the complexity or cost of building everything from scratch.
