We are a national web design franchise company based in Torquay, Devon, and we’re now looking for a driven HR Manager to join our fast-growing team to provide excellent people management and employee relations support for our managers and directors.
About the role
This is a varied role, and the successful candidate will undertake an assortment of tasks to maintain the HR function within the business. You will be reporting directly to the Finance Director to oversea the Health and Safety of the organisation and manage the day-to-day HR. This is the ideal role for someone with experience to implement change and review procedures to ensure their efficiency.
Main responsibilities:
Managing and maintenance of Health and Safety procedures
Ordering office supplies
Review and update policies in line with employment law and organisational needs
Liaise with the marketing department to advertise, engage with candidates and recruit when needed
Manage appraisals, job chats, probations, disciplinary and grievances, performance management and absence management and occupational health referrals
Advise Managers and Directors on employee relations matters and employment law, seeking approval from our solicitors where needed
Manage annual leave ensuring it is on all communication platforms
Review training needs for H&S and implement the training plans for the forthcoming year
Promote the Employment Assistance Program and be aware of employee wellbeing initiatives, suggesting and implementing your own
Coordinate recruitment fairs and training opportunities
About you
We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, and professional individual with a positive, can-do approach and the ability to manage a varied workload.
You should be someone who enjoys working as part of a team, and supporting staff with empathy and can also lead and influence when needed.

Skills and experience:
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Great verbal and written communication skills
Confidence to work independently and to manage stakeholder expectations
Ability to prioritise tasks in a HR environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
Experience in managing others and change
CIPD qualified to level 3 or equivalent experiences
About this vacancy
This is a part-time role based at our national Head Office in Torquay. Salary will be dependent on experience.
Working hours are to be arranged with the ideal candidate.
